Have you ever wondered why there is no neighborhood oriented, local sports pub
chain where you can enjoy a small setting amongst friends without the “big box”
or “mom and pop” vibe? We did!
Our founders, Joe and Paula Fraser, were on a quest to create the kind of place they would want to hang out at: awesome sports, great food, awesome cocktails and beers and good times! After a couple of trial concepts and some fine-tuning, Bout Time Pub & Grub was born.
“It happened” in September of 2009, with the opening of our first pub at Jordan
Landing in West Jordan, Utah. A handful of friends and family got behind Joe’s
vision and decided it was “Bout Time” to get started. The pub was an instant
success. The tiny 1600 square foot location rocked every night with good times.
Within just a few months a loyal following developed and it soon became clear
the groundwork had been laid for a killer sports pub that would be successful in a
multitude of locations.
In the early months of 2010, plans to expand Bout Time Pub & Grub to other areas
of the Salt Lake Valley began in earnest. Tim Ryan joined Joe and the team and
together, they further developed the business plans and future sites. Two new
locations in Cottonwood Heights and Taylorsville were off and running in the fall of
2010. These stores built upon the already awesome concept with more space and
double the hi-def tv’s at the original location.

2011 marked a major milestone for Bout Time Pub & Grub with the opening of locations in Downtown Salt Lake City at The Gateway, West Valley by the Maverick Center and at Herriman Crossroads. Along with the good times and great fans, we started to receive awards for “Coldest Beer” (City Weekly 2011), Best Nightlife/Sports Bar (KSL A-List, 2012) and “Best Sports Bar” (Reader’s Choice, Best of Utah, City Weekly 2012). The continued improvements to our sports programming, menus and service and our commitment to creating “your favorite neighborhood hangout” made Bout Time Utah’s most popular and most fun place to visit.
Bout Time Pub & Grub is continuing to grow with new locations planned along the Wasatch front and beyond. We have created a franchise model and will soon be letting owner/operators in on the fun! Look for us in your neighborhood as we continue to build the best sports pubs in the land!
Cheers! Joe & Tim
